Cloq

Why Cloq

Cookie-free · Live · Owned · Quiet

Most analytics make you choose: numbers that arrive tomorrow, or tracking you would rather not do to your readers. Cloq gives you today's visitors as they arrive, keeps the data on your own server, and never follows anyone around the web. It sounds like "clock" because time is what it measures best: when people arrive, and how long they stay.

C

Cookie-free

Cloq stores nothing on your visitors' devices: no cookies, no local storage, no fingerprint kept.

To tell one visit from another, it combines the visitor's address and browser with a random value that is replaced every day and then deleted. The result can't be turned back into an address, and the same person can't be linked from one day to the next. IP addresses are used for a moment to look up a city, then discarded.

L

Live

Visitors show up on your dashboard within seconds, not the next day.

See who is on the site right now, where they came from and which page they're reading. Open any visit to follow its path page by page, with the time spent on each. Reading time counts only while the page is actually on screen, so a tab left open overnight doesn't pass for an eight-hour read.

O

Owned

Your numbers live in your own database, not in someone else's advertising business.

No third party receives your visitors' data. Location comes from three independent databases, looked up on the server, with the majority answer shown, so no lookup service ever sees who your visitors are. A read-only API key lets your own admin pages show the same numbers.

Q

Quiet

One small script, no banners from Cloq, and nothing that slows your pages down.

The tracker is a few kilobytes, loads without blocking the page, and sends a short message when a page opens and while it's being read. It ignores bots that announce themselves and requests from other websites using your code.
